It is designed to welcome more skilled immigrants to Atlantic region that comprises of the following provinces:

  • New Brunswick
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Newfoundland and Labrador

Pilot program is mainly focused on the following five priority areas:

  • Skilled Workforce and immigration
  • Innovation
  • Clean growth and climate change
  • Trade and investment
  • Infrastructure

As mentioned before AIPP is an employer-driven that needs the immigrants to have an AIPP Canada job-offer to be eligible under this program. A job-offer and a settlement plan for themselves and their family members are the mandatory requirements.

The designated employer when is able to find an immigrant that have the required skills for the vacancy in the labor market demand, they just have to offer them the AIPP job-offer letter. They are not needed to go through the process of obtaining Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) under this program. Once the immigrant accepts the job-offered, employer have to provide the candidate with a designated settlement service provider organization that will them to develop the settlement plan. For the employers that are in urgent need to get their job vacancies filled, can provide the selected candidates with a temporary work permit. For this candidate needs the following:

  • A valid AIPP Canada job-offer
  • A letter from the province
  • A commitment to apply for PR within 90 days of the temporary work permit application

 What are the requirements to apply for AIPP in 2019?

Requirements to apply under the AIPP depend on the category candidates are applying. AIPP has the following categories:

  • Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP)
  • Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP)
  • Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP)

AIPP Job-offer from a designated employer Full-time, one year contract that is categorized under NOC skill level 0, A, B or C
Skilled Work Experience One year
Educational Qualification Completion of at least high school and ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) or credential is required
Language Proficiency Minimum CLB level 4
Provincial endorsement Letter of Endorsement

Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP)

AIPP Job-offer from a designated employer Full-time, Indeterminate job that is categorized under NOC skill level 0, A, B or C
Skilled Work Experience NA
Educational Qualification Two year post-secondary diploma from a publicly funded educational institution that is obtained within 12 months before the submission of application for PR visa
Language Proficiency Minimum CLB level 4
Provincial endorsement Letter of Endorsement
